Mr M Sood BSc(Hons) MB. FRCS(Eng.) FRCS(Tr. & Orth.)

Mr Sood qualified from Guys Hospital Medical School in 1992 and undertook Higher Surgical Training in Orthopaedics and Trauma at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH), Stanmore and associated hospitals.

He undertook further higher sub-specialty training as a Senior Clinical Fellow in Hip and Knee surgery, both in the UK, and in two centres of excellence in North America (The Mayo Clinic, Minnesota and Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto).

Mr Sood’s sub-specialty interests include arthroscopic hip and knee surgery, hip and knee joint replacement surgery  (including hip resurfacing, unicompartmental knee replacement and mini-incision surgery), realignment osteotomies around the knee for early arthritis and cartilage transplantation. 

 

He has particular interests in rapid recovery after joint replacement surgery and in complex and revision joint replacement surgery.

Mr Sood holds an NHS Consultant appointment in Orthopaedic Hip and Knee Surgery at Bedford Hospital NHS Trust and an Academic appointment as Honorary Senior Lecturer in Orthopaedics at The RNOH, Stanmore.

Mr Sood is a faculty member on a number of Post-graduate Courses at the RNOH and also regularly presents work at national and international Hip and Knee meetings.  He is an Instructor on a number of Hip surgery training Courses and continues be involved in research.
